Lots to LOVE About Woodluxe

If you loved Arborcoat, you’ll really love Benjamin Moore’s new and improved exterior stain, Woodluxe.

Woodluxe’s semi-solid, semi-transparent, and transparent lines are straight penetrating stain – meaning they are more resistant to cracking or peeling from frost/thaw cycles and heavy foot traffic and will last longer.  Under normal conditions, you can expect Woodluxe to last about 2 to 4 plus seasons, depending on the opacity. Solid stains will last longer than translucent ones.

For those that really enjoyed the solid Arborcoat performance, the same product is available in the new water-based solid line of Woodluxe.

What Makes Woodluxe Innovative:

  • Advanced All-Weather Protection
  • Excellent Wood Penetration
  • Easy Application
  • Suitable for Both Vertical and Horizontal Surfaces
  • Available in a Wide Range of Opacities and Colors

Applications

A New Deck

Translucent stains are a great option for a new deck and will really allow the full beauty of the wood to show through. Woodluxe’s translucent line is available in 7 ready-mix colors, either water-based or oil-based.

Tip: Pressure treated lumber often has a mill glaze on it. Before applying stain, you’ll need to remove the mill glaze – either by sanding or with Benjamin Moore’s Wood Brightener & Neutralizer. Lumber should have a moisture content below 15% before staining.

A Deck that is A Few Years Old

Semi-transparent stains work well for decks that are a few years old and will allow most of the grain pattern and wood texture to show through. Woodluxe’s semi-transparent line is available in 75 colors, either water-based or oil-based.

Tip: If your deck has begun to gray, try Benjamin Moore’s Wood Restorer and Wood Brightener & Neutralizer to restore the amber tone to the wood and allow the stain to penetrate deeper.

An Older Deck that Needs a Touch-Up

Semi-solid stains will add pigment for protection and UV resistance while still maintaining the deck’s color. Woodluxe’s semi-solid line is available in 75 colors, either water-based or oil-based.

An Old Deck with Imperfections to Hide

Solid stains will give you the most pigment and UV resistance while still allowing the wood texture to show through. Woodluxe’s solid line is available in more than 3,500 water-based colors.

If some sections of the deck need more attention than others, try Woodluxe’s ultra flat line. Suitable for horizontal and vertical surfaces, Woodluxe’s ultra flat line is available in more than 3,500 water-based colors.
