Replacing an electrical outlet is an easy project for a Do-It-Yourselfer. If your outlet is loose, not only is it an annoyance but it's actually dangerous. However, if you ever have any questions regarding working with electricity, please consult a professional. It is always better to be safe than sorry!
Tips
It is always important to make sure that the power going to your outlet is OFF before starting any work!
After turning the power to the outlet off from the electrical box, use your voltage detector to be sure.
Use a digital camera to take a snapshot of the back of your outlet before you detach any wires, so that you can use it for reference to reconnect the wires properly.
Connect the green (or bare) ground wire first, followed by the white and the rest of the wires.
